When Srivilliputhur became a separate parish in 1906, the Jesuit priests started preaching Christian faith in Madhankovilpatti. In 1915, Rev. Fr. Mage SJ, started the primary school to uplift the economically weaker section to impart education to them. Now the school is marching towards its successful centenary year.
In 1953 it became as the substation of Sivakasi parish. To focus mainly on the spiritual need of the people and to eradicate child labour, it was handed over to Salesian priests (Congregation) in 1993. Though they taught about the value of education, savings and catechism, the distance was a hindrance to their service. In 2013 they requested the Archbishop to make it a separate parish.
In 2005 Madhankovilpatti became a separate parish from Vidivelli - Don Bosco parish. Apart from this Thayilpatti and Kodhainatchiyarpuram from Sivakasi was also included as substation. Rev. Fr. Joseph was appointed as a first Parish Priest.
In 2007 Rev. Fr. Aseervatham became the parish priest. His main motto was to educate the poor people; hence he utilized his own money given by the diocese for the welfare of children education by providing teaching and learning materials. Though he had certain health issues he never gave upon his duties; one such duty was to construct the parish church for the need of the parishners. He tried to build the church in the land freely given by the Salesians congregation. Rev. Fr. Xavier Raj, Srivilliputhur took charge to construct the church due to his illness.
In 2012 Rev. Fr. Alvarus Sebastine with great interest took effort to construct church for Srilankan Tamilians. By developing Anbiyam (Basic Christian Community), YCS, Choir, Legion of mother Mary and Night Studies, thereby he developed the parish. Taking into consideration the Arunthadhiyar people’s education and financial development, the Jesuit priests started a centre in Karisal where he worked to the fullest.
